Huntingburg Chamber Urges Residents to Shop Fourth Street Businesses Despite Construction

HUNTINGBURG -- Fourth Street is Open For Business.  The Huntingburg Chamber of Commerce has launched that new campaign to encourage residents to shop local businesses on 4th Street during the Heritage Trail construction project.

" Fourth Street is open, you may have a few extra steps to get to a business from your parking spot," says Sara Schroeder with the Huntingburg Chamber, "but all of our businesses are operating and will be throughout the project."

Schroeder says many of the businesses in the construction zone are taking the work in stride.  They know the work shows their downtown is thriving.

"We've made Huntingburg a destination.  We've made it a place for people, from outside of this area, to want to come and see.  We have such a unique downtown with unique, historic buildings and this beautiful downtown park."

Schroeder adds local downtown businesses survive because of the community support and thrive from bringing tourists in.
