Hit-and-Run Leads to Charge, Citations for Taswell Woman

Jasper - A Taswell woman has been charged and cited for fleeing the site of an accident on Wednesday in Jasper.


Jasper Police received a report of a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of U.S. 231 and S.R. 162 just after noon on Wednesday. The driver of one of the vehicles immediately fled the scene, according to police.

Responding officers tracked down Taryn Ballard, 31, of Taswell, headed east bound on S.R. 162.

Ballard was taken into custody and charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident, with additional citations for driving while suspended, operating a vehicle without financial responsibility, and operating a vehicle with false and fictitious plate.

Both vehicles were totaled in the wreck. Police did not any injuries at the scene.
