Hand Tools & Herbicide for Invasive Plant Control

The Daviess, Martin, or Orange County Soil & Water Conservation Districts (SWCDs) are offering FREE Invasive Control Kits to landowners and residents in the three counties. The kits feature hand tools and herbicide to control woody invasive plants, and were designed to provide the basic components to conduct cut-stump herbicide applications. Unlike herbicide applications that are applied to a plant’s leaves, cut-stump is a targeted application where a concentrated herbicide is applied to a stump’s surface right after cutting. The herbicide then goes into the plant’s roots to prevent it from resprouting, without harming nearby plants.
