GLOBAL WAR ON TERROR (GWOT) SERIES

VFW Post 673 invites the public to attend our second Global War on Terror (GWOT) event. This new series began back in November 2025 and resulted in an incredible turnout and excellent presentation. This event continues to feature local veterans who will share their experiences from the GWOT. We hope to replicate the resounding success from our first event. 

The second event titled “Semper Fidelis: Dubois County Marines at War,” will take place on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at VFW Post 673, 3131 Newton Street, Suite 3, Jasper, IN 47546. 

This program highlights some remarkable stories from local United States Marine Corps Veterans who served in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF). 

The evening begins with a meal at 5:30 p.m., followed by the presentation at 6:30 p.m. Guests are asked to RSVP contacting Gary Love at (812) 639-3789 or by going to the event website which is https://duboiscountymarines.rsvpify.com/ 

This informal series is designed to: 
1. Capture and share the stories of local veterans with family, friends, and the community. 
2. Encourage more Global War on Terror (GWOT) veterans to connect with and join the VFW. 

All members of the community are encouraged to attend this unique opportunity to hear firsthand accounts from Dubois County veterans and to honor their service. A reasonably priced meal ($15.00) will be served, and attendees will have the chance to ask questions and engage with the speakers. This event is open to the public.
