Ferdinand Police and Fire Agencies Release Data on Local Calls For Help in August

FERDINAND -- Ferdinand Police have released a breakdown of calls the department responded to in the month of August.

Last month, officers there responded to 246 calls for service; driving a total of 4,882 miles.

Officers worked 11 car accidents in August. They issued 32 traffic warnings and three citations. Officers in Ferdinand also responded to 16 alarms, six stranded vehicles, and 3 domestic issues.

It was also a busy month for the Ferdinand Fire Department.  Crews went on 10 fire runs and 12 calls for other emergencies.

The department recently announced they purchased a rescue boat and have put it into service.

It was purchased using donated funds.
