Enjoy Local History During the Strassenfest

Tours and demonstrations will take place during the Strassenfest on Saturday, August 1 at the Alexander Schoolhouse, Jasper City Mill, and Schaeffer Barn. 
The Alexander One-Room Schoolhouse will be open for tours starting at 9:00am until 3:30pm. A special movie, Banished into Paradise will be played at 11:00am, 1:00pm and 3:00pm. 

The Jasper City Mill will be open from 9:00am - 5:00pm with demonstrations of the grist mill. From 10:00am – 2:00pm see demonstrations of watercolor painting and yarn spinning. The Schaeffer Barn rooms including the display room will be open from 11:00am - 2:00pm with demonstrations of stone cutting and crosscut sawing. 

The Daughters of the American Revolution will offer free colonial crafts such as rebellion rag dolls and tricorn hats. 

Hear about the importance of both during the American Revolution from 9:00am – 3:00pm in the Veteran’s Garden at the back of the Schaeffer Barn.
