DUBOIS COUNTY -- Dubois County Tourism is proud to announce that they are once again the presenting sponsor of this year’s Thunder Over Patoka fireworks show.

On Saturday, July 6, thousands of people will head to Patoka Lake to watch the huge fire rockets shoot into the sky over the clear water. Whether near the Patoka Beach area, on a boat, or at one of the close-by ramps, the show will be a sight to see filled with the “oohs” and “ahhs” of any great fireworks show.

The beach area is currently closed due to high water. The beach parking area will open around 6:30p.m. however swimming will not be permitted during this time.

All vehicles must vacate the parking area immediately following the fireworks display.

This year marks the 14th year that PLAY (Patoka Lake Area Year-round) has put on this annual event. Dubois County Tourism and PLAY would like to encourage all area residents and visitors to make plans to attend this year’s Thunder Over Patoka Presented by Dubois County Tourism.

Fireworks will start at dark.  Bring your family and friends, lawn chairs, blankets, refreshments, and bug spray. Already camping at Patoka this weekend. Then there is no need to drive down to the beach. Just go to section C of the Modern Campground for your own viewing area of the fireworks display.
