Dubois County Sheriff Kleinhelter officially charged with misconduct and false informing

Dubois County Sheriff Tom Kleinhelter has been charged with one count of official misconduct and three counts of false informing.

The case was filed Thursday, April 9th in Marion County.

The charges come as Kleinhelter’s law enforcement certification remains under review. The Indiana Law Enforcement Training Board decertification subcommittee is expected to consider whether to revoke his police certification at an upcoming hearing.

As previously reported, no criminal charges were filed earlier following an audit that showed a misuse of funds.
