Dubois County Museum Finalist in Best of Indiana Award for Museums

Dubois County Museum just learned that they are on the Indiana Connection Magazine Readers’ Choice Awards for the Best of Indiana. Indiana Connection is a publication of Indiana Rural Electric Cooperative. They asked readers to name their top choices in ten categories and have narrowed the choices down to the top three favorite places in each category. Dubois County Museum has been named a top finalist in museums. Also named under museum are The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis and Indiana State Museum in Indianapolis. Some stiff competition. The public is asked to vote for their favorite. Go to goiec.org/48bCk40 to download a paper ballot. If you receive a copy of Indiana Connections be sure to open to page 13 and use the QR code. Also ballots are available at the museum. Let’s make our county museum number one! The voting deadline is June 5. Ballots can be mailed to Indiana Connection at 11808 Pennsylvania Street Carmel, IN 46032. 

Other categories feature county ties. Under Brewery the Patoka Brewing, Birdseye and St. Benedict’s Brew Works in Ferdinand are named. Patoka Lake Modern Campground in Birdseye is listed under Campgrounds. The Lincoln Amphitheatre in Lincoln City is listed under Place for Live Theater. Holiday World is listed as a Place to take the Kids. Schnitzelbank Restaurant in Jasper is listed under Restaurants. 

About the museum 
The Dubois County Museum is a local nonprofit organization committed to the collection, preservation and interpretation of historical artifacts and information important to the citizens of the county. Museum operations are funded by annual memberships, admissions, donations and gifts from visitors, area residents and businesses. It is operated entirely by volunteers. It is located in Jasper at 2704 N. Newton Street (US231). Call (812) 634-7733. Please allow two hours to view exhibits.
