FROM LOCAL SOURCES

JASPER -- The Dubois County Sheriff’s Office is warning drivers not to push their luck in March, urging everyone to drive sober.

County law enforcement will join agencies from across the country for the annual Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over enforcement campaign.

Those local officers will step up overtime patrols and sobriety checkpoints during the month of March to prevent dangerous and impaired driving.

March is a big month for alcohol-related celebrations including St. Patrick’s Day and the NCAA tournament.

In March of last year, there were 433 alcohol-related crashes in Indiana, resulting in 205 injuries and five fatalities.
