Dubois County Health Department Partners to Offer Free ATV Safety Training for Youth

The Dubois County Health Department is proud to partner with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources and Forest Park High School FFA to offer a free ATV Safety Training course for local youth. The training will take place on Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. (ET) at the Ferdinand Community Center. Registration is required.

This hands-on educational opportunity is open to Dubois County residents ages 6–18 and is designed to promote safe and responsible ATV use. Participants will learn essential safety skills, including:
 Indiana ATV laws and regulations
 Proper vehicle operation
 General safety practices to prevent injury

As an added incentive, participants who complete the course will receive a free ATV helmet, helping reinforce the importance of protective gear while riding.

“This partnership allows us to provide a fun, engaging, and educational experience that promotes safety among youth in our community,” said Shawn Werner, Administrative Director at the Dubois County Health Department. “We encourage families to take advantage of this opportunity.”

Space is limited, and registration is required by June 15, 2026. To reserve a spot or learn more, visit www.duboiscountyin.org or call 812-481-7050 ext. 7163.
