Dubois Branch Library July 2026 Events

Library will be closed on Saturday, July 4 for Independence Day. 

Summer Reading runs through Friday, July 17. Don’t forget to visit the library to pick up your completion prize by July 17! 

Wednesday, July 1 through Friday, July 31 - Find Eric the Eagle hiding in the children’s section and choose a prize from the treasure chest. 

Wednesday, July 1 from 1 to 7 pm – Patriotic Crafts for all ages. Celebrate America’s 250th with a variety of patriotic crafts. 

Monday, July 6 at 2 pm – Dubois County CARES for all ages. Join Dubois County CARES for fun activities practicing positive thinking and bouncing back. Target age group is ages 8 to 11, but all are welcome! 

Tuesday, July 7 at 11 am – Fruit Storytime for ages 2 to 6 with an adult, siblings welcome. Bring your toddler to hear stories about fruit, make fruit-themed crafts, and play with friends. 

Wednesday, July 8 from 1 to 7 pm – Suncatcher Painting for all ages. Choose from a variety of suncatchers to paint. 

Wednesday, July 8 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm – Bubbles with the Mobile Makerspace for all ages. Make gigantic bubbles in the library parking lot with Ms. Gayle! 

Thursday, July 9 at 10:30 am at the Dubois Intermediate School – Indiana Jim’s Reptile Experience for all ages. Learn all about the fascinating world of amphibians and reptiles! Sponsored by Rick and Marlene Vonderheide. 

Friday, July 10 – Teddy Bear Picnic Day for all ages. Bring your teddy bear or other stuffed friend and enjoy a picnic on the library patio! Saturday, July 11 from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm – Games Day for all ages. Enjoy a variety of board games and carnival style games in the library community room! 

Monday, July 13 at 5:30 pm – Rosebush Painting for ages 15 and up. Make a beautiful 3- dimension rosebush painting using acrylic paints, q-tips, and resin roses and butterflies. Registration is required. 

Tuesday, July 14 at 11 am – Birthday Party Storytime for ages 2 to 6 with an adult, siblings welcome. Bring your toddler to hear stories about birthdays, make birthday-themed crafts, and play with friends. 

Tuesday, July 14 from 1 to 5:30 pm – Card Playing for ages 18 and up. Join your friends for a fun afternoon of playing cards! 

Wednesday, July 15 at 12 pm – Fishing for Beginners with Ranger Jim for all ages. Ranger Jim from the Army Corps of Engineers will explain the basics of fishing. 
 
Thursday, July 16 at 10:30 am at the Dubois Intermediate School – Sam Bartlett Stuntology for all ages. Enjoy a performance of physical impossibility using everyday objects. Sponsored by the Friends of the Dubois Library. 

Saturday, July 18 from 11 am to 12:30 pm – Pokémon Club for trainers ages 8 and up. Hear all the buzz about bug type Pokémon and entomology at this special themed event. Participate in Poké trivia and meet live insects that are the inspirations behind popular bug type Pokémon to get a special badge! Bring your own games and cards to trade and play! 

Monday July 20 at 2 pm – Dubois County CARES for all ages. Join Dubois County CARES for fun activities practicing positive thinking and bouncing back. Target age group is ages 8 to 11, but all are welcome! 

Monday, July 20 – Fortune Cookie Day – Enjoy a fortune cookie and make your own out of paper! 

Tuesday, July 21 at 11 am – Fish Storytime for ages 2 to 6 with an adult, siblings welcome. Bring your toddler to hear stories about fish, make fish-themed crafts, and play with friends. 

Wednesday, July 22 from 1 to 7 pm – Puzzle Day for all ages. Have a fun afternoon of puzzling with your family and friends. A variety of puzzles for all ages will be available. 

Thursday, July 23 from 11 am to 3 pm – Fruit Windchimes for all ages. Create your own fruit windchime while supplies last. 

Saturday, July 25 from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm – Open Play for all ages. Play with a wide variety of toys and games available in our community room. 

Monday, July 27 at 6:30 pm – End of the Month Book Club. This month we will be discussing Somebody’s Daughter by Ashley C. Ford. Pick up a copy at the front desk and join our discussion. New members are always welcome! 

Tuesday, July 28 at 11 am – Pig Storytime for ages 2 to 6 with an adult, siblings welcome. Bring your toddler to hear stories about pigs, make pig-themed crafts, and play with friends. 

Fridays in July at 9 am – Yes2Next – Light cardio and strength training for older adults following a video. Must register by calling the library. No Yes2Next on July 3. 

Children under 8 years old must be accompanied by an adult at all Dubois Branch Library events.
