Drug Suspect Arrested in Multi-Agency Operation

On Thursday, April 16 th, at approximately 5:00 pm, Daviess County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) Special Investigations Unit detectives along with Kentucky State Police detectives, FBI Special Agents, deputies with the US Marshals Service and a K9 Unit from the Daviess County Detention Center arrested Timothy Swanagan age 34, of the 1800 block of N. Chesterfield Drive, Owensboro, as part of an ongoing DCSO drug trafficking investigation. 

Swanagan was stopped by law enforcement while driving a vehicle near the intersection of West 5 th Street Road and Worthington Road during a targeted operation. He was arrested on an active federal drug trafficking warrant related to the investigation and transported to the Daviess County Detention Center. During a search of his vehicle, investigators discovered a trafficking quantity of methamphetamine, a loaded handgun, and evidence of drug trafficking. All the evidence was collected and logged in at DCSO. 

This is an ongoing investigation into Swanagan’s criminal activity, and additional charges are anticipated based on what was discovered in the vehicle at the time of his arrest.
