DCH Foundation announces inaugural Hoops for Healthcare event

Daviess Community Hospital Foundation will tip off a new fundraising tradition this spring with its inaugural Hoops for Healthcare event on Friday, March 20, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. at the National Guard Armory, 500 NE 6th St., Washington, Indiana.

The March Madness watch party will replace the Foundation’s annual Kentucky Oaks Derby Gala and will feature live broadcasts of the opening-round college basketball games on televisions throughout the venue. Home Savings Bank is the presenting sponsor of the inaugural event.

Hoops for Healthcare will offer a full day of basketball action and family-friendly fun, including basketball-themed mini games and other activities. Food and beverages will be available for purchase, and sponsorship opportunities are available for businesses and individuals who want to support local health care.

“All proceeds from Hoops for Healthcare will go toward purchasing equipment that helps patients recover through therapy at Daviess Community Hospital and the CORE Center,” said Angie Steiner, Daviess Community Hospital Foundation director. “This event gives our community a fun way to enjoy March Madness together while directly supporting the patients and families who count on us for care close to home.”

Steiner said the new event reflects the Foundation’s continued commitment to creating engaging, mission-focused experiences for donors and community members.

“By aligning this fundraiser with the excitement of the tournament, we hope to welcome long-time supporters and new friends who want to make a tangible difference for patients in our region,” Steiner said. “Every sponsorship and every ticket purchased helps us provide better tools for our therapy teams and better outcomes for patients.”

Reservations are not yet open, and the Foundation is encouraging community members to save the date. Ticket, reservation and sponsorship information will be announced soon at dchosp.org and on Daviess Community Hospital’s social media channels.

The Daviess Community Hospital Foundation’s mission is to enhance and complement the mission of Daviess Community Hospital by providing a means for philanthropic support of the hospital and by strengthening relationships between the hospital and the people in the communities it serves. Gifts to the Foundation stay local and help support patients, families, friends, co-workers and neighbors who rely on Daviess Community Hospital for care.
