DCH Chief Nursing Officer Jenna Bedwell elected to YMCA Board

Daviess Community Hospital announced that Jenna Bedwell, MSN, RN, NE-BC, chief nursing officer at DCH, has been elected to serve on the Daviess County YMCA Board of Directors. Bedwell was elected in December to a two-year term.

Bedwell’s appointment reflects DCH’s continued commitment to community collaboration and to advancing health and wellness beyond the hospital setting. In her role on the YMCA board, Bedwell will work alongside community leaders to help guide initiatives focused on prevention, physical activity, and overall well-being for individuals and families throughout Daviess County.

“The YMCA plays an important role in the health of our community, and there are exciting opportunities ahead,” Bedwell said. “I felt it was important to strengthen the connection between the YMCA and Daviess Community Hospital as we work together to improve health and wellness through collaborative efforts. This partnership allows us to align our missions and better support the people we serve.”

A Washington native, Bedwell brings both clinical expertise and operational leadership to the board. She has more than a decade of healthcare experience and is board-certified as a Nurse Executive through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. As chief nursing officer, she provides strategic leadership for nursing services across DCH and plays a key role in advancing patient experience, quality, and service excellence.

Before becoming CNO, Bedwell served DCH as practice administrator, overseeing primary care clinics, pediatrics, and Quick Care, and previously worked as a critical care registered nurse. In 2024, she was recognized by Custom Learning Systems as a Motivating Administrator for her leadership, innovation, and commitment to healthcare excellence.

DCH leaders said Bedwell’s election underscores the hospital’s emphasis on strong community partnerships and shared responsibility for improving population health.

“Collaborations like this are essential to building healthier communities,” said Chief Executive Officer Justin D. Harris, MSHA, MBA, FACHE. “Jenna’s leadership and deep community roots make her an excellent representative of DCH as we continue to work alongside organizations like the YMCA to support prevention, wellness, and long-term health.”

The Daviess County YMCA provides programs and services that promote physical activity, youth development, and healthy living. Bedwell’s involvement will help strengthen coordination between healthcare and community-based wellness initiatives, supporting DCH’s mission to improve the health of the communities it serves.
