JASPER -- Police were called to the Jasper Municipal Pool Sunday afternoon on a report of two people drunk, swimming in the pool with their two children.
Police say 37-year-old Jonathan Hunsicker and 35-year-old Hope Heinz were very drunk, registering a point 3-0 on a breathalyzer.
The pair reportedly became belligerent when they were asked to leave; curing and yelling.
Due to the adult’s level of intoxication, Child Protective Services was called out to their home on Birk Drive.
When officers met Hunsicker and Heinz, they said Hunsicker was in the driver’s seat of his vehicle with the engine running, the two children in the back seat.
Police say the suspects became disorderly again. They were eventually taken to the hospital to be medically cleared then to jail on charges of OWI, Neglect, and Disorderly Conduct.
The children were handed over to the custody of their biological mother.
