Corydon Man Killed in Crash on Interstate 64
Early Monday morning, officers responded to a fatal two‑vehicle crash on Interstate 64 that claimed the life of a Corydon man.
At approximately 5:45 a.m., the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to a reported injury crash near the 98‑mile marker, about seven miles west of Corydon. Deputies arriving on scene requested assistance from Indiana State Police troopers and ISP crash reconstruction investigators.
According to preliminary information, a silver 2006 Honda Civic driven by 31‑year‑old Zachary Rhodes Burdin of Corydon was traveling westbound in the right lane of I‑64 when it struck the rear of a commercial straight truck pulling a flatbed trailer loaded with paving equipment. Burdin, who was the sole occupant of the Honda, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Harrison County Coroner. No other injuries were reported. Investigators do not believe weather contributed to the crash.
The investigation remains ongoing.
