Christina Zimmer Robinson Gallery Exhibit at Jasper Arts- Thyen-Clark Cultural Center

Jasper Arts is pleased to present the work of Evansville, IN artist, Christina Zimmer Robinson for the months of June, July, and August 2026 at the Thyen-Clark Cultural Center. The solo exhibition titled ‘You Contain Everything’ features a large variety of mixed-media sculptures.

Christina state, “In a society that profits off our vulnerabilities, “You Contain Everything” argues that by acknowledging and accepting our pasts, we empower ourselves to move toward internal sufficiency.” Christina’s work explores how social constructs and complex family dynamics shape our perceptions of ourselves and others. Often driven by our “fixing mindsets” and an obsession with identity, we can find ourselves lacking the framework to view ourselves as continuously adaptive beings. We begin to focus on our perceived failures and often find ourselves in a state of frustration and exhaustion, looking outward for answers.

Christina believes that value is created from self-understanding and embracing our own unique journeys. Through her work, she hopes to illuminate the creative process of lived experience rather than relying on narratives created by social constructs or other simulated societal interpretations. Micro-adaptations through decision-making are what drive our personal evolution; it is important these are based on our individual intuition and instincts.

The multiple eyes and faces in Christina's sculptures represent stages of growth, the feeling of double consciousness, and the adaptive lenses we acquire as we navigate our environments. These lenses are created by our constant collecting and distilling of information. Though they can sometimes feel out of balance or contradictory, through time and curiosity, they lead to a broader perspective of ourselves and others.

Christina’s goal is to reduce the exclusivity of art and to make hope possible for those who feel stuck in the cycles of their past. The tactile problem-solving nature of sculpting has given her agency as it mirrors the continual process of collecting, developing, and editing ideas in an ever- changing world. Christina describes herself as an “expert at nothing” but a “collector of tiny bits of the puzzle” as she moves toward a better version of herself. She understands there will never be a ‘quick fix’ or absence of struggle...only the process. As we embrace our adaptive resilience, our true values unfold and our connection to others increases.

Christina Robinson is a multidisciplinary, self-taught artist from Evansville, IN. Her work is held in the permanent collection of the Evansville Museum of Arts, History & Science. She graduated from Indiana University Bloomington where she studied sociology and psychology. She lived in Louisville, KY from 2006-2015 where she was inspired to pursue art professionally. Her work explores how the environments in which we grow up affect how we view both our internal and external worlds. Robinson believes that value is created from self-understanding and embracing our own unique journeys. Through her work, Robinson hopes to illuminate the creative process of lived experience rather than relying on narratives created by social constructs or other simulated societal interpretations. Robinson enjoys the tactile problem-solving nature of sculpting as it relates to the continual process of collecting, developing, and editing ideas in an ever-changing world.
