Buttons Will No Longer Be Required for Ferdinand Heimatfest Events

FERDINAND – Entry to several key events at the 2019 Ferdinand Heimatfest sponsored by MasterBrand Cabinets, Inc. will look different this year, as buttons are no longer required.

Requiring buttons for entry to the beer garden has been used to generate funds to run and sustain the Heimatfest for many years.  Beginning with this summer’s Heimatfest held on June 21 and 22, buttons will no longer be sold or required for entry.

“We have received feedback about the model to require buttons for entry through the years, and are happy to be at a point as an organization where we no longer need to rely on the button sales to generate funds to run and sustain the Fest,” says Evan Daunhauer, Heimatfest committee co-chair.

Although buttons will no longer be required at the Heimatfest, there will be a $5 entry fee for the backyard barbecue held on Saturday, June 22 from 12 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. eastern.  This entry fee collected with the hand-out of the tasting utensils directly supports offsetting the costs of the event.

“The funds raised through corporate partnerships and in-kind donations at the Fest are critical in ensuring that we can continue to hold this annual event and give back to the community in a sustainable way,” says Neil Weyer, Heimatfest committee co-chair.  “With the elimination of the button sales, we hope to see everyone come out June 21 and 22 to continue to support the community and several worthy organizations through the offering of events, a variety of food booths, and games.”

The Ferdinand Heimatfest sponsored by MasterBrand Cabinets, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization focused on enabling Ferdinand to prosper by helping Dubois County grow.  Since 2016, the Heimatfest has donated $25,000 to organizations throughout Ferdinand and the broader Dubois County community.  For more information and for details on this year’s Fest held June 21 and 22, visit www.ferdinandheimatfest.com.
