Brian LaRoche Dubois County Sheriff Candidacy Announcement
I am excited to announce my candidacy for Sheriff of Dubois County as a Republican for the upcoming
2026 election. Throughout my career, I have been committed to protecting our communities, upholding
the law, and serving with integrity—values I am eager to bring to the sheriff’s office.
I am a proud veteran of the United States Army and Indiana National Guard. I also hold an Associate of
Science degree with a major in law enforcement from Vincennes University.
During my career with the Indiana State Police, I have been assigned to the Connersville and Jasper
Posts and the Criminal Investigative Section (Drug Enforcement Section). While at the Jasper Post, my
record includes leading the district in OWI arrests for 5 consecutive years, receiving employee of the
quarter for 2 separate quarters, and earning 2 Meritorious Service awards and a Lifesaving award. I was
a Field Training Officer, a Squad Sergeant, a member of the TIP team and a K-9 handler. I currently serve
as a road trooper.
After nearly 26 years of service with the Indiana State Police, I understand the challenges facing Dubois
County and the importance of building strong community relationships. I am a past President and Vice-
President of the local Fraternal Order of Police. I am a licensed sports official for high school football,
basketball, and baseball. My family and I are members of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg,
where we volunteer for various events, including the church picnic and Thanksgiving meals.
My wife and I have lived and worked in this community for the majority of our lives. Our two daughters
also call this community home. I am running to ensure Dubois County remains a safe and welcoming
place to live, work, and raise a family.
The residents of Dubois County deserve a Sheriff who works well not only with officers within the
Sheriff’s department but also with other agencies. Dubois County needs a leader who is transparent with
community leaders and the community. With my life and law enforcement experiences, I believe I have
those qualities.
I appreciate your support now and your vote in May 2026.
