BLOOMINGTON DISTRICT WELCOMES TWO NEW TROOPERS

The Bloomington District welcomes two newly assigned Troopers following their graduation from the 89th Indiana State Police Lateral Academy on Thursday, March 19th.

Trooper Zaccary T. Sheppard, Age 26, was born and raised in Brown County. A 2018 graduate from Brown County High School, he married his current wife, whom he met in school. Following high school graduation, he was hired to work as a corrections officer in the Brown County Jail. He has the distinction of becoming the youngest corrections officer hired.

After three years, he was hired as a merit deputy with the Brown County Sheriff's Office and graduated from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in April 2022. In 2025, he was promoted to a road supervisor. He worked at the Brown County Sheriff's Office as a law enforcement officer for five years before his acceptance to the Indiana State Police.

He and his wife enjoy their two dogs. Trooper Sheppard is an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoys spending time with his family and focusing on his mental and physical health.

Trooper Andrew W. Weeks, Age 28, was born and raised in Greene County. Following homeschooling, he joined the United States Marine Corps Reserves and served for six years. He was hired as a merit deputy with the Greene County Sheriff's Office, where he worked as a law enforcement officer for four years before his acceptance to the Indiana State Police.

Trooper Weeks is married with one child. He and his wife are expecting their second child in August. Trooper Weeks enjoys spending time with the family, working out, hiking, and camping.

The Indiana State Police welcomes both Troopers to the Bloomington District.
