AREA WIDE -- 7 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in Dubois County, according to county health officials.

Other parts of our listening area are being hit hard as well by COVID-19.

Vanderburgh County has 40 cases, 21 in Warrick County.  Spencer County only has one reported case of coronavirus while Pike and Perry Counties are yet to have anyone test positive.

A total of 4,944 Hoosiers have now tested positive for the virus.  139 people in Indiana have died so far.

New numbers will be released at 10 a.m.

Meanwhile, one source for the spike in cases in Warrick County is an area nursing home.  Officials say they have confirmed 8 cases of COVID-19 at Signature Healthcare in Newburgh. The health department said the facility is currently undergoing all COVID-19 protocols outlined by state and federal health officials.

A nursing home in Washington, Indiana has drawn quite a bit of attention.  The owners of the Washington Nursing Center began transferring patients out of the facility while COVID-19 patients were being brought in.

Local officials issued an order to stop that from happening.
