Area Dairy Farm Dumps Supply of Milk Due to Decrease in Demand Due to COVID-19

FORT BRANCH - A local dairy farm in southern Indiana shows the impact the pandemic is having on local businesses.

Obert Farms Inc. in Fort Branch posted on their Facebook page a truck load of milk being dumped in a field. The post says that due to school and restaurant closures, plus the lack demand from grocery stores they had no choice but to dump their product out.

Obert Farms explains specific state laws prohibit selling or donating raw milk.

Since the small business doesn't have resources to process their products, they had to get rid of their supply altogether.
