Annual American Flag Disposal Ceremony for Dubois County This Friday

The Dubois County Veterans Council (DCVC) is hosting the Annual Flag Disposal Ceremony for Dubois County on Flag Day, Friday, June 14th.  The ceremony will be held at the Dubois County Fairgrounds and will begin promptly at 7:00pm.

The Playing of Patriotic Songs (Recorded), The National Anthem and the reciting of the “Pledge of Allegiance” will highlight the Disposal Ceremony.

David Flynn, the current Commandant of The Marine Corps League and Jr Vice Commander of VFW Post 673, and Brian Wigand the President of the DCVC will preside over the ceremony.

The Public is asked to bring their unserviceable and worn/torn flags to the actual ceremony, or they can drop them off at their local Veterans Organization located throughout the county. Due to the number of Flags involved in this once-a-year event, the actual burning/disposal of them will continue after the solemn ceremony.
