2024 IASB High School Broadcasting Competition Awards Announced

More than 800 students and instructors from 40 Indiana high schools and career centers attended the annual Indiana Association of School Broadcasters (IASB) Conference and Awards Ceremony at Butler University in Indianapolis on March 11, 2024.

Students attended workshops that addressed topics including film, video, radio, sports broadcasting, journalism and emerging media. The day concluded with an Awards Ceremony, announcing winners from 42 different categories that spanned five different divisions in the broadcasting and digital media fields. The high school awards for top broadcasting and media students has been around since 1986, and switched from two divisions (Radio and Television) to five (Radio, Video, News Media, Sports Media and Emerging Media) last school year.

"Every year it becomes more difficult to judge this competition, not just because we had a record number of entries from an increasing number of members, but because the quality of the student work is incredible. There's no doubt that the future of broadcasting is very bright when you see what the next generation of media professionals is already doing. Congratulations to the students and their instructors for producing amazing work,” said Dr. Joe Misiewicz, IASB Executive Director and Ball State University Emeritus Instructor in Communications.
