2 Charged During Motel Surveillance Operation

On December 9 th , 2025, the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) Special Investigations Unit (SIU) was conducting surveillance near a local motel in the 1300 block of West 2 nd Street in Owensboro after receiving several complaints from the community alleging illegal activity. During the operation, they observed a suspected drug trafficking transaction. Detectives observed a male subject exit his room and meet a female subject in the parking lot. During the interaction that followed, detectives observed as the male subject reached into a gray plastic bag and removed what appeared to be a small baggie and give it to the female. The female subject was then observed giving money to the male. Detectives then approached both subjects to investigate, and the female informed the detectives that she had a warrant for her arrest and admitted that she had just purchased synthetic marijuana and hid it in her bra. She was instructed to remove the synthetic marijuana and placed under arrest. A records check showed that she had been mistaken and that there was no active warrant for her arrest. While speaking to the two subjects, detectives observed what appeared to be an additional baggie of suspected synthetic marijuana hanging out of the male subject’s pants packet. He was also placed under arrest, and the gray plastic bag was found to contain several baggies of suspected synthetic marijuana and baggies of methamphetamine along with drug paraphernalia. The male subject admitted to detectives that he was only selling small bags of drugs to make some money. Both subjects were lodged in the Daviess County Detention Center, and the seized property was logged into evidence.
