[UPDATE]1 Dead, 1 Injured in Overnight Knottsville Shooting
Daviess County Sheriff’s detectives and deputies have made one
arrest of a suspect and has obtained an arrest warrant for second suspect in the Knottsville
shooting that occurred Saturday morning.
While following up on several leads throughout the morning, DCSO detectives were able to
identify two persons of interest and track their movements from Knottsville to La Grange,
Kentucky. DCSO contacted the Oldham County Sheriff’s Office, Oldham County Police
Department, and the La Grange Police Department to share information about the investigation
and request their assistance.
Law enforcement in Oldham County quickly located the suspect vehicle parked and unoccupied
in a neighborhood in La Grange at approximately 8:00 am CST. Two DCSO detectives and four
DCSO deputies traveled to Oldham County to expand our investigation in conjunction with law
enforcement there and recover evidence.
As the investigation proceeded, DCSO and the Daviess County Commonwealth’s Attorney
Office obtained two search warrants for residences and one search warrant for the suspect
vehicle in Oldham County which were executed by the Oldham County Special Response Team
and the DCSO investigators present in Oldham County. The ensuing searches revealed several
vital pieces of evidence that tie the suspects to the shooting.
Additionally, one of the two suspects was located and detained during a traffic stop in La Grange
as investigators were conducting surveillance on one of the residences. Ayden Louis Farrow, age
19, of La Grange, Kentucky, was arrested by DCSO deputies and returned to Owensboro where
he was lodged in the Daviess County Detention Center on charges of Hindering Prosecution or
Apprehension 1st Degree and Tampering with Physical Evidence. He is being held on a $250,000
bond.
The second suspect, James Semaj Carr, age 20, of Crestwood, Kentucky, is being actively sought
by DCSO on a warrant for Murder, Assault 2nd Degree, and Tampering with Physical Evidence.
He is believed to be armed and dangerous and should not be confronted except by law
enforcement.
The juvenile victim, who was hospitalized from the shooting, was released from Owensboro
Health Regional Hospital on Saturday afternoon.
The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office is very appreciative of the assistance and professionalism
extended by our brothers and sisters in the Oldham County and La Grange law enforcement
family. The investigation remains open, and additional charges are possible.
