The Tell City Police Department responded to two separate vehicle crashes involving pedestrians that occurred just hours apart on the evening of March 14, 2026. Both incidents remain under investigation.
First Crash – 12th Street and Tell Street
At approximately 5:56 p.m., officers responded to a crash involving a pedestrian near the intersection of 12th Street and Tell Street.
Preliminary investigation revealed that pedestrian Kaleb Harding, age 18, was walking with a friend and attempting to cross Tell Street using the designated crosswalk while the pedestrian walk indicator signaled the right of way. During this time, Harding was struck by a 2013 Nissan that was attempting to turn right onto 12th Street from Tell Street.
Harding was transported to a medical facility, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Nissan, Gary Board, age 69, of Tell City, underwent a post-accident assessment conducted with assistance from a neighboring agency’s certified Drug Recognition Expert (DRE). Through this investigation, officers developed probable cause and subsequently charged Board with Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated Resulting in Bodily Injury.
Board was lodged in the Perry County Detention Center.
Second Crash – 15th Street and Mozart Street
At approximately 7:50 p.m., officers responded to a second crash at the intersection of 15th Street and Mozart Street involving a juvenile bicyclist.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a 13-year-old juvenile was riding a bicycle northbound on 15th Street and failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection with Mozart Street.
The juvenile was struck by a vehicle traveling westbound on Mozart Street.The juvenile was transported to a medical facility and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
