Southridge Baseball's Gene Mattingly steps down

At the helm for nine seasons, with the program for 20, Gene Mattingly presided over the most successful era of Southridge Baseball. In less than a decade, Mattingly's Raiders compiled 144 wins and 11 total IHSAA postseason championships.
From 2017 to 2026, Southridge has produced double-digit collegiate players, and Chicago White Sox Shortstop Colson Montgomery.
The Raiders earned the IHSAA 3A State Championship in 2021; Southridge finished as State Runner-Up twice.
