Northeast Dubois names Schmitt new Athletic Director

Dubois - In Tuesday's School Board Meeting, Northeast Dubois Sr. High School approved Kelly Schmitt as the Jeeps' new Athletic Director.

Currently at Springs Valley in French Lick, Schmitt will join the Jeeps' Athletic Office for the 2024-2025 school year. Prior to Schmitt accepting the Athletic Director at Springs Valley, she served as the Girls' Basketball Head Coach for the Blackhawks, compiling 109 wins over 10 years, winning two sectional championships.

Schmitt takes over for the retiring Terry Friedman who had overseen Northeast Dubois athletics since 2006.

Both Schmitt and Friedman were recognized by the Southwest Indiana Officials Association in 2023 for hospitality.
