New IHSAA classifications have area schools on the move
As previously announced by the Indiana High School Athletic Association, the re-classification process in four-class sports will follow a new 20-25-25-30 ratio. The updated class break will put the largest 20 percent of schools in 4A, the next largest 25 percent in 3A, the proceeding 25 percent in 2A, and the smallest 30 percent of schools in 1A. According to the IHSAA press release, the re-classification is, "based on the entire membership total and not only those schools participating in each sport effectively keeping sectional alignments similar across each sport.
Re-classification will not take effect until the 2024-2025 school year.
Football (Six classes) and Boys' and Girls' Soccer (Three classes) will only be affected by changes in enrollment and the success factor.
The Tournament Success Factor points have been taken into account for the following re-alignment.
