Verna Lee Moeller, age 89, of Jasper

Verna Lee Moeller, age 89, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 6:24 p.m. on Sunday, July 7, 2019, at home.
 
Verna was born in Huntingburg, Indiana, on June 17, 1930, to Fred and Bertha (Mehling) Freson.  She married Kenneth Moeller on October 31, 1952, in Jacksonville, Florida.  He preceded her in death on November 4, 2001.
 
Verna was a 1948 graduate of Huntingburg High School.  She then received her Bachelor's Degree from Indiana State Teachers College.
 
Verna was a teacher at Jasper High School, and then was a secretary for Jasper Municipal Utilities for over 25 years.  
 
She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana, and the Holy Family Ladies Sodality.
 
She enjoyed reading, classical music, flower gardening, crossword puzzles, and spending time with family.
 
Surviving are one daughter, Andrea (Brian) Ackerman, Jasper, IN, two sons, Michael (Linda) Moeller, Indianapolis, IN, David (Sheri) Moeller, New Palestine, IN, six grandchildren, two step grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews.
 
Preceding her in death besides her husband is one sister, Patricia Bohnert.
 
A Mass of Christian Burial for Verna Lee Moeller will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 10, 2019, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana, with entombment to follow in the Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum in Jasper.
 
A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service time at the church on Wednesday.
 
Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church or to a favorite charity.
