Samuel Lengacher, 75, of Montgomery

Samuel Lengacher, 75, of Montgomery, Indiana, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2023, surrounded by his family at The Villages at Oakridge in Washington, Indiana.

He was born on April 19, 1947, in Loogootee, Indiana, to Menno and Lydia (Kemp) Lengacher.

Sam married Anna Lois Wagler on November 16, 1968, and she preceded him in death. He married Sharon Stoll on November 10, 2007, and she survives. Sam was a member of Providence Mennonite Church in Montgomery, Indiana. He worked as a truck driver transporting petroleum for over 36 years. Sam also was a farmer, raising hogs and other livestock. After his retirement from truck driving, Sam worked at K & K Industries for over 14 years. In his later years he loved to spend winters in Florida playing shuffleboard and the card game ROOK. He enjoyed gardening and sports, but most of all he loved to spend time with his grandchildren and his family. He will be missed by all that knew him.

Sam is preceded in death by his wife Anna Lois, his parents, Menno and Lydia Lengacher, daughter – in -law, Cami (Graber) Lengacher, 5 brothers, Levi, Amos, William, Jacob, and Benjamin and 4 in -laws.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon (Stoll) Lengacher, his children, Gaylord Fabian Lengacher, Anita Fawn (Bruce) Miller, Danette Faye Yousey, Tristan Jay (Katrina) Lengacher, 10 grandchildren, Christine Miller, Corey Miller, Caitlin Miller, Conner Miller, Jonathon Yousey, Andrea Yousey, Jaeden Lengacher, Averi Lengacher, Keifer Lengacher, Taryn Lengacher, his siblings, Fannie Graber, Albert (Barb) Lengacher, Simon (Mildred) Lengacher, Katie Wagler, Mary (Alva) Knepp, Barbara (Pete) Wagler, Lydia (Wally) Knepp, Menno Jr. (Lana) Lengacher, Emma Troyer, Esther (Wilmer) Knepp, Mandy (Joe) Knepp, Margaret (Delbert) Graber, and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at 10:00 A.M. at Providence Mennonite Church in Montgomery with Pastor Eric Miller to officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023, from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Providence Mennonite Church and again on Saturday, February 4, 2023, from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at 10:00 A.M.
