Robert "Bob" L. Brosmer, age 88, of Jasper

Robert "Bob" L. Brosmer, age 88, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 2:58 p.m. on Sunday, February 21, 2021, in Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper, Indiana. 

Bob was born in Jasper, Indiana, on December 5, 1932, to William and Rose (Schroering) Brosmer.  He married Ramona Hubert on May 2, 1964, in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Huntingburg, Indiana. 

He was a 1950 graduate of Jasper High School and served in the United States Army.   

He was co-founder and president of Jasper Woodworking until it was purchased by Best Chairs in 1993. 

He was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana, Precious Blood Men's Society,  American Legion Post #147 and its 40 et 8, for 53 years, of which 39 he served as treasurer, Knights of Columbus life member,  Dubois County Museum, Jasper Deutscher Verein, and the Happy Go Lucky and Camping Hoosiers, and he volunteered at the Jasper Community Arts Center. 

He enjoyed woodworking, watching TV, playing cards, and mowing his lawn. 

Surviving are his wife Ramona Brosmer, Jasper, IN, four daughters, Janet Brosmer, Terre Haute, IN, Barbara (Dave) Gillaspy, Marilyn (Jim) Langston, both of Indianapolis, IN, Deborah (Jerry) Hopf, Jasper, IN,  eight grandchildren, Peter and Sarah Gillaspy, Nora (Austin) Alcala, Colleen, Gavin, and Garrett Hopf, Cole and Kate Langston, one great grandson, Reed Alcala, one brother, Alphonse Brosmer, Jasper, IN, 35 nieces and nephews, 60 great nieces and nephews, and 60 great-great nieces and nephews. 

Preceding him in death are five sisters, Anna Mae DeMotte, Betty Brosmer, Lillian Fromme, and Mary Catherine Mehringer, and an infant Martha Brosmer,  four brothers, Roman, Harold and Tom Brosmer, and an infant, James Brosmer 

  

A Mass of Christian Burial for Robert L. Brosmer will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February, 27, 2021, in Precious Blood Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana, with entombment to follow in the Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum.  The American Legion Post #147 will conduct military grave site rights. 

A visitation will be held from 3:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 26, 2021, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, Indiana, and one hour before services from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at the church on Saturday.  Masks and social distancing will be required for visitation and Mass.  Precious Blood Parish will pray a rosary at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home and the 40 et 8 will conduct a ritual as well. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the 40 et 8 Nurses Training Scholarship or to Precious Blood Catholic Church.
