Phyllis A. Norris, 78, of Loogootee

Phyllis A. Norris, 78, of Loogootee, passed away at 3:55 p.m. Sunday, August 26, 2018 at the IU Health Hospice House in Bloomington.

She was born October 28, 1939 in Washington, Indiana to the late George R. and Mary Beatrice (Williams) Taylor.

Phyllis was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and a past member of St. Michael Catholic Church. She was a past catechism teacher for St. Michael Catholic Church and St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was the family historian, enjoyed traveling, swimming and water aerobics.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Geo. Verlyn Norris; parents, George and Bea Taylor; brothers, Richard Taylor and Donald Taylor.

Phyllis is survived by her children, Mary Ann Norris of Loogootee, Stephanie Norris of Loogootee and James (Jonna) Norris of Ellettsville; grandchildren, Amelia Norris and Emmett Norris; step-grandchildren, Robbie, Taylor, Betty and Ella; siblings, Brenda Dillion, Ruth Scott, Caroline Taulbee, Sylvia Wheeler, Sherry Killion and Douglas Taylor; niece, Lisa (Jeff Boger) Dillon; great-niece, Jessa Boger.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Very Rev. J. Kenneth Walker at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Loogootee. Burial will follow in St. Michael Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 29, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee and Thursday, August 30, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the IU Foundation-Attn Hospice House, 714 S. Rogers Street, Room 402, Bloomington, IN 47403.
