Pauline A. Harris, age 95, of Birdseye, formerly of Huntingburg, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2021, at her residence.
She was born November 16, 1925, in Birdseye, Indiana, to Fred B. and Lula May (Smith) Abell; and married Cecil Charles Harris on June 29, 1963, at the First Pentecostal Church in Birdseye. Pauline was a homemaker and also a caregiver for her granddaughter, Carla Michelle “Missy” Eckert. She was a faithful member of the First Pentecostal Church of Birdseye. Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Charles Harris; one daughter, Mary Lou (Dale) Eckert; five brothers; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.
She is survived by one son, Carl “Sonny” (Frances) Steffen of Birdseye, Ind.; one sister, Mildred (the late Ray) Harris of Huntingburg, Ind.; two brothers, Harold (Sandy) Abell of Hagerstown, Ind. and Howard (Delores) Abell of Fortville, Ind.; by (6) grandchildren, (9) great-grandchildren and (2) great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Pauline Harris will be held at 1:00 p.m., E.S.T., on Sunday, January 24, 2021, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Mentor Cemetery near Birdseye. Pastor Bret Eckert will officiate at the service.
Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., on Sunday, the day of the funeral.
