Pastor John L. Snyder, age 92, of Huntingburg

Pastor John L. Snyder, age 92, of Huntingburg, currently residing in Pensacola, Florida, passed away at 8:00 pm, on Friday, August 14, 2020, in Pensacola.  He was born December 5, 1927, in Battle Creek, Michigan to Warren L. and Martha E. (Ball) Snyder; and married Mary D. (Wert) Snyder on November 17, 1946, in Coldwater, Michigan.  John was a meat cutter, an avid hunter, a veteran of the United States Army, and a Pastor of 50 plus years who shared God’s Word to all.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary D. Snyder, who passed away on July 18, 2017; his parents, Warren and Martha Snyder; two brothers, Robert Snyder and Max Snyder; and sister, Lavon (Snyder) Rude.

John is survived by three sons, Gerald D. (Nancy) Snyder of Waco, Texas, William B. (Karen) Snyder of Huntingburg and Michael E. (Dawkhmai) Snyder of Pensacola, Florida; by (7) grandchildren and (18) great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for John Snyder will be held at 12:00 noon, E.D.T., on Monday, August 24, 2020, at Calvary Baptist Church in Huntingburg.  Pastors Rick Ballard and Justin Halder will officiate at the service.  Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery in Huntingburg with military graveside rites conducted by the V.F.W. Post #2366 Memorial Detail.

Friends may call for visitation at the Calvary Baptist Church from 10:00 am-12:00 pm, Monday morning.  Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
