Morris “Dusty” Hubster, Jr., age 71, of Holland

Morris “Dusty” Hubster, Jr., age 71, of Holland, passed away at 8:19 p.m., on Monday, January 7, 2019, at his residence.

He was born July 21, 1947, in Holland, Indiana to Morris and Lorraine (Kaiser) Hubster; and married Susan R. “Sue” Mattingly on June 3, 1972, at Augustana Church in Holland. Dusty was a plumber and coal miner. He retired from Mehringer’s Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning where he worked for 25 years. He was a member of the Augustana United Church of Christ, Holland Volunteer Fire Department, Southern Indiana Leathernecks Detachment #931 Marine Corps League, and a life member of both the Huntingburg V.F.W. Post #2366 and the Holland American Legion Post #343. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, and was awarded the Bronze Star.

Dusty was preceded in death by his wife, Susan R. “Sue” Hubster, who passed away on February 25, 2013; his parents; and three siblings, David Hubster, Shirley Schraner and James “Bud” Hubster.

He is survived by two sons, Morgan (Tiffany) Hubster of Holland and Landon Hubster of Holland; one daughter, Kenley (Steven) Lintzenich of Ft. Branch; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services for Morris “Dusty” Hubster, Jr. will be held at 10:00 a.m., E.S.T., on Friday, January 11, 2019, at the Augustana United Church of Christ in Holland with burial to follow at Augustana Cemetery. The Holland American Legion memorial detail will conduct military graveside rites.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00-8:00 p.m., on Thursday, January 10th; and also at the church one hour prior to the funeral on Friday. A Marine Corps League vigil service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday evening, at the funeral home.
