Michelle Rene Schroeder, age 56, of Jasper

Michelle Rene Schroeder, age 56, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 6:45 a.m. on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at Indiana University Health Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Michelle was born in Huntingburg, Indiana, on December 7, 1964, to Robert J. and Henrietta M. (Moeller) Bieker. She married Greg Schroeder on September 1, 1984, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper.

She was a 1983 Jasper High School graduate. She then went on to receive her accounting degree at the University of Southern Indiana.

She worked at Kimball International her entire career.  She started in marketing, taking leave for college to study accounting, then worked her way up to chief financial officer. She was currently working in investor relations.

She was awarded by the Indianapolis Business Journals 2017 CFO of the year and the University of Southern Indiana 2018 Distinguished Accountant.

She was past president of the Southern Hills Counseling Center Board. She was formerly on the Board of Advisers for the USI College of Business and the Finance Committee at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ireland,  Indiana.

 Michelle enjoyed playing cards, games, puzzles, and spending time with family and friends.

Surviving are husband Greg Schroeder, Jasper, IN, two sisters; Christine (Jason) Frederick, English, IN. and Sheila Bieker, Greenwood, IN., one brother; Ronald (Rita) Bieker, Jasper, IN., and nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are her parents; Robert and Henrietta Bieker, and one niece; Beth Englert.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Michelle Rene Schroeder will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, in St. Mary's Catholic in Ireland, Indiana, with burial to follow in Fairview cemetery in Jasper. 

A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service time at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Wednesday, September 8, 2021.

Masks and social distancing will be required.
