Michael L. Bateman, 70, of Loogootee

He was born January 3, 1952, in Washington, Indiana to the late Ernest and Myrtle (Dean) Bateman. 

Mike married Kimberly Wagoner on September 29, 2012, and she survives. 

He was a member of the Indiana Laborers Union, Veteran of Foreign War – Post 9395 and the American Legion – Post 120. He enjoyed stock cars, racing, hunting, fishing, and visiting Las Vegas.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Myrtle (Dean) Bateman; sister, Janet (Bill) Combess; sister-in-law, Wilma Bateman. 

He is survived by his wife, Kimberly, of Loogootee; children, Rodney (Miranda) Bateman of Loogootee, Amy Bateman of Whitestown and Ashley (Eric) Galamback of Chicago, Illinois; stepchildren, Shaun Bunch of Vincennes, Rikki (Matt) Lyford of Washington, Candy (Rusty) Van Lue of Loogootee, Nathan (Amanda) Wright of Heltonville and Autumn Bullock of Loogootee; 24 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; siblings, James Bateman of Loogootee and Anna Bauer of St. Louis, Missouri. 

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 16, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at his favorite place, his garage, 310 W. Vine Street, Loogootee, Indiana 47553. All family and friends are welcome.
