Mary Lou Buse, age 86, of Holland

Mary Lou Buse, age 86, of Holland, Indiana, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2019, in an automobile accident south of Holland.

She was born July 9, 1932, in Huntingburg, to Oliver and Alice (Hemmer) Weitkamp; and was united in marriage to Edwin Buse on October 5, 1952, at Zoar United Methodist Church.  Mary Lou was an active member of St. James Lutheran Church in Holland, where she was a member of the Women of the Word; a Sunday school teacher for many years; and helped with the nursery class.  She worked in the cafeteria for over 20 years with the Southwest Dubois County School Corporation; and would be seen at many sporting events greeting people at the door and selling tickets.  Mary Lou enjoyed playing Rook and Rum; but most of all, she loved following her children and grandchildren’s activities.  She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edwin Buse, who passed away on March 31, 1996; one sister, Doris Mae Grim; one brother, Lawrence Weitkamp; and by one grandson, Blake Buse, who passed away on September 6, 2010.

She is survived by one daughter, Bev (Kevin) Messmer of Jasper, IN; four sons, Michael Buse of Holland, IN, Scott (Katrina) Buse of Jasper, IN, Brad (Annette) Buse of Huntingburg, IN, Mark (Stephanie) Buse of Jasper, IN; eleven grandchildren, Elizabeth, Abby, Sara, Alison, Derek, Makenzie, Jackson, Brandon, Blair, Bailey, Brooklyn; two step-grandchildren, Derek, Sara; and seven great-grandchildren.

 Funeral services for Mary Lou Buse will be held at 10:00 a.m., E.D.T., Friday, June 28, 2019, at St. James Lutheran Church in Holland with burial to follow in St. James Cemetery.  Pastor David Darling will officiate the services.

 Friends may call for visitation from 2:00-8:00 p.m., on Thursday, June 27^th, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg; and from 9:00-10:00 a.m., at the church prior to the service.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. James Lutheran Church.
