Mary Catherine Mehringer, age 91, of Jasper
Mary Catherine Mehringer, age 91, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 12:50 a.m. on Friday, December 6, 2019, at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper, Indiana.
Mary Catherine was born in Jasper, Indiana, on July 14, 1928, to William and Rose (Schroering) Brosmer. She married Claude J. Mehringer on November 8, 1952 in St. Joseph Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on September 4, 1964.
Mary Catherine retired from Jasper Woodworking, where she worked in the office for many years.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Jasper where she was a member of their St. Ann's Sodality, and served as a Stephen Minister. She was also a member of the Jasper Circle of the Daughters of Isabella where she organized the monthly Bingo at the Providence Home for 45 years.
She also served as a Eucharistic Minister at Northwood Good Samaritan Retirement Community, and was a member of the Dubois County Right to Life.
She enjoyed playing cards with her family and friends, and dedicated her life to her faith and family.
Surviving are three daughters, Diane Verkamp (Charlie), Schnellville, Martha Keusch (Kevin), Ireland, Trish Mehringer (Dan), Jasper, three sons, Stan Mehringer (Mary Jane),Teague, TX, Glen Mehringer (Marcia), Jasper, and Mark A. Mehringer, Jasper, IN, one son-in-law, Bob Scherle, Crystal, 20 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and two brothers, Robert Brosmer (Ramona), Jasper, and Alf Brosmer, Jasper.
Preceding her in death besides her husband was one daughter, Donna Scherle, four sisters, Lillian Fromme, Anna Mae DeMotte, Betty Brosmer, and Martha Brosmer who died in infancy, and four brothers, Romie Brosmer, Harold Brosmer, Tom Brosmer, and James Brosmer who died in infancy.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Mary Catherine Mehringer will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 10, 2019, in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper, Indiana.
A visitation will be held from 2:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 9, 2019, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper, Indiana, and from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service time at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Tuesday. The St. Joseph St. Ann's Sodality and the Daughters of Isabella will pray the rosary at 1:45 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Dubois County Right to Life, or a favorite charity.
