Margie Sue Mattingly, of Greenville, South Carolina, formerly of Loogootee
Margie Sue Mattingly, of Greenville, South Carolina, formerly of Loogootee,
passed away on January 21, 2022, at her home.
She was born June 22, 1940, to the late Hazel (Thompson) and Michael Newton.
Margie was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Simpsonville, South
Carolina. She enjoyed playing the organ, music, dancing, and spending time with
her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Mattingly; parents, Hazel and
Michael Newton; sisters, MaryAnn Matteson, Georgia Winninger and Carla Frye;
brother, Mike Newton.
Margie is survived by her children, Tom (LeeAnn) Mattingly, Cheryl (Earl) Adams
and Sher Phillips, all of South Carolina; grandchildren, Tommy Mattingly, Howard
Phillips, Michelle and Brian Adams; great-grandchild, Serenity Mattingly.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 2, 2022, at St. John
Catholic Cemetery in Loogootee.
