Janice Niehaus, 76, of Ferdinand

Janice was born August 22, 1945 in Huntingburg to Cletus and Mildred (Burch) Nalin. She married Tom Niehaus on August 13, 1966 in St. Ferdinand Church. 

Janice retired from the Ferdinand News after 23 years of service. She was a member of Christ the King Parish, St. Ferdinand Church. She served on the funeral luncheon team for many years. Janice loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandkids. She enjoyed knitting, camping, traveling and her card club. 

Janice is survived by her husband, Tom of Ferdinand; two sons, Michael (Alayna) Niehaus of Sammamish, WA and John (Melissa) Niehaus of Bretzville; four grandchildren, Anya, Grant, Elise and Rhett Niehaus; two sisters, Dorothy (Anthony) Wigand of Ireland and Marge Martin of Jasper; one brother, Tom (LaDonna) Nalin of Evansville. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lynn Marie Niehaus in infancy; two brothers, Bill and Bob Nalin; a sister, Shirley Wigand. 

Funeral services will be Thursday, September 9 th at 10:00 AM in St. Ferdinand Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 8 th from 4-8:00 PM at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand and also Thursday from 7-9:30 AM at the funeral home.
