Jane Anne Rehl, age 95, formerly of Huntingburg

Jane Anne Rehl, age 95, formerly of Huntingburg and Evansville, passed away on October 20, 2020, at The Lodge Care and Rehab Center in Cincinnati, Ohio.

She was born January 10, 1925, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Jack A. and Helen (Squires) Haymaker.  She attended Butler University where she met her husband, Dr. Robert P. Rehl of Huntingburg.  They were married on July 8, 1945, in San Diego, California and lived in Huntingburg for 50 years.

Jane was a 50 year member of Salem United Church of Christ in Huntingburg; and in recent years was a member of Saint John’s East United Church of Christ in Evansville.  She was a lifelong volunteer with the Girl Scouts, schools and churches in both Huntingburg and Evansville; was an active member of the D.A.R., serving as National Historian General in 1995 and on the boards of several D.A.R. supported schools for underserved children; and supported the preservation and restoration of historical buildings and monuments.  She loved golf, bowling and gardening.  Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, on July 7, 1995; her parents; brother, Jack Haymaker; daughter-in-law, Kathryn Rehl; and great-grandson, Bobby Simpson.

She is survived by one son, Bob Rehl of Huntingburg; one daughter, Leslie (Dan) Coles of Cincinnati, Ohio; (5) grandchildren, (5) great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for Jane Anne Rehl will be held at 2:00 p.m., E.S.T., on Saturday, November 7, 2020, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with interment to follow at Fairmount Cemetery, Huntingburg.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home from 12:00-2:00 p.m., E.S.T., on Saturday.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Madonna of the Trail Endowment.
