James W. Carroll, 68, of Loogootee, passed away at 6:00 p.m. May 13, 2018 at Loogootee Healthcare and Rehabilitation.
He was born July 2nd, 1949 in Marengo, Indiana to the late James Wesley and Lula (Crawford) Carroll.
James was a United States Navy veteran and served his country during the Vietnam War. He loved to fish, camp, hunt mushrooms and spending time with family.
Her was preceded in death by his parents, James and Lula Carroll; sisters, Geneva I. Thompson, Oneida M. Cook, Mary E. Reynolds and Lou Ann Jones; brothers, Clarence VanWinkle and Alvin Green.
James is survived by his wife, Betty (Wathen)(Hembree) Carroll; children, Amy Carroll and Laura Carroll, both of Fredonia, James Owen Carroll of Sherpardsville, KY, and Jarrod Carroll of Cannelton; grandchildren, Sarepta (Terry) Albertson and Dillion Courtney; great-grandchildren, Ava Courtney and Ayla Albertson; sister, Carol S. Longest of Paoli; step-children, Roger (Jessica) Hembree, Aaron (Nanetee) Hembree, both of Loogootee, and Barbara (Billy) Erdman of Murfreesboro, TN; step-grandchildren, Brandon Hembree, Samantha Hembree, Tanner Akles and Liam Erdman; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Friday, May 18, 2018 at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee. Burial will follow in St. Martin Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 17, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Blake Funeral Home.
