James R. Zink, age 80, of Huntingburg

James R. Zink, age 80, of Huntingburg, passed away at 11:52 a.m., Monday, February 11, 2019, at his residence.

He was born January 28, 1939, in Ferdinand, Indiana to Roman and Evelyn (Whipking) Zink; and married Shirley Worman on June 13, 1958, in Illinois.  James worked as a truck driver and was a member of V.F.W. Post #2366.  He served in the United States Navy as a Quartermaster Seaman aboard the USS Toledo.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Zink, who passed away on May 26, 2001; his parents; three brothers, Charlie, Joseph and Terry Zink; and three sisters, Shirley Payne, Wanda Payne and Rosie Owens.

He is survived by seven children, Terri (Max) Haake of Chandler, James J. (Terri) Zink of Huntingburg, Sherry Sherron of Huntingburg, Steve (Donna) Zink of Huntingburg, Dennis (Donna) Zink of Newark, Delaware, Kathi (Todd) Reynolds of Huntingburg and Danny C. (Karla) Zink of Huntingburg; two sisters, Barbara Tredway of Huntingburg and Kathy Nelson of Petersburg; by (18) grandchildren and (32) great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for James R. Zink will be held at 10:00 a.m., E.S.T., on Thursday, February 14, 2019, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Fairmount Cemetery in Huntingburg.  The funeral Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Ryan Hilderbrand.  Military graveside rites will be conducted by the V.F.W. Post #2366 Memorial Detail.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00-8:00 p.m., on Wednesday, February 13th.  A parish vigil service will be held at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home.
