James “Jim” Fill, age 80

James “Jim” Fill, age 80, of Huntingburg, passed away at 3:59 p.m., on Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville.

 He was born May 8, 1938, in Seymour, Indiana to Carl Christian and Dorothy (Davis) Fill; and married Linda Linstrot on August 7, 1966, at the Methodist Church in Huntingburg.  Jim was employed as a District Scout Executive with the Buffalo Trace Boy Scout Council and as a machine operator with Styline Corporation for thirty years.  He was a member of the Huntingburg United Methodist Church and the Dubois County Masonic Lodge #520 F&AM; served as a Corporal in the United States Army; enjoyed wood working; and was a Purdue University sports fan.  He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Barbara Allyn; and one brother, Weldon Fill.

 Jim is survived by his wife of 51 years, Linda Fill of Huntingburg, Ind.; one daughter, Christy (Jan) Miller of Huntingburg, Ind.; one son, Jeff (Kim) Fill of Morgantown, Ind.; and two grandchildren, Nicole Fill of Ft. Bliss, Texas and Nathan Fill of Morgantown, Ind.

Funeral services for James Fill will be held at 2:00 p.m., E.D.T., on Saturday, June 16, 2018, at the Huntingburg United Methodist Church with Pastor Lee Campbell officiating.  Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery in Huntingburg.  The Holland American Legion Memorial Detail will conduct military graveside rites.

 Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 4:00-8:00 p.m., on Friday; and also at the church one hour prior to the funeral on Saturday

A Masonic vigil service will be conducted by the Dubois County Masonic Lodge at 7:00 p.m., Friday evening, at the funeral home.
