James H. Ellis, 93, of Loogootee

He was born December 13, 1927, in Loogootee, Indiana, to the late Asa and Mary B. (Halbert) Ellis. Jim was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. 

He enjoyed farming and tinkering in the barn. He loved to dance and loved to make people laugh. 

He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Jean (Mills); Son Stephen James Ellis; Parents, Asa and Mary B. (Halbert) Ellis; Siblings, Dorothy (Ellis) Spears, Mary (Ellis) Keller, Margaret (Ellis) Wagoner, Ann (Ellis) Cunningham, and Charlie Ellis. Brothers-In-Law Bob (Dorothy) Spears, Louis (Mary) Keller; Jack (Ann) Cunningham. Sisters-In-Law Edith (Harry) Ellis, Helen (Bill) Ellis, Linda (Charlie) Ellis, Jeanie (Raymond) Ellis. 

Jim is survived by his children, Alan (Carla Hayes) Ellis of Washington, IN; Patti Parsons, Diane Padgett of Loogootee, and Mary Kay Perkins of Jasper, IN. Grandchildren, Denise (Allen) Henninger, Chris Parsons, Derek Parson all of Loogootee. Brian (Julie) Padgett of Bloomington, IN, Matt (April) Padgett of Columbus, IN; Haley (Brandon) Witte of Ft. Wayne, IN and Brooke Perkins of Jasper, IN. 9 Great Grandchildren Siblings, Harry Ellis, Bill Ellis, Raymond Ellis and Ruth Strange.
