Glen R. Werne, age 73, of Jasper

Glen R. Werne, age 73, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 12:02 p.m. on Monday, June 3, 2019, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper, Indiana.
 
Glen was born in St. Meinrad, Indiana, on December 22, 1945, to Victor and Josephine (Kunkler) Werne.  He married Marilyn S. Schnaus on September 19, 1970, in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ireland, Indiana.  She preceded him in death on February 3, 2011.
 
Glen was a  Dale High School graduate.
 
He was a United States Army Veteran, serving during Vietnam in the 3rd BDE Task Force, 25th INF Division.
 
He was a pressman, production manager, and foreman at the Abbey Press for over 40 years.
 
He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.
 
Glen enjoyed playing golf and watching sports, especially his grandkids playing, and was an avid Cincinnati Bengals fan.
 
Surviving are three daughters, Denise (Rob) Kleiser, Jasper, IN, Jennifer (Pete) Lashley, Lamar, IN, and Allison (Zach) Fromme, Greenville, NC, eight grandchildren, Austin, Reagan, Grant, Mason, Pierce, Caleb, Carter and Lucas, two sisters, Mary Werne, Ferdinand, IN, Martha (Larry) Tempel, Brazil, IN, and two brothers, David (Bessie) Werne, St. Meinrad, IN, and John Werne, Ferdinand, IN, mother-in-law, Dorothy Schnaus, Ireland, IN.
 
Preceding him in death besides his wife are his sister-in-law, Linda Werne, and father-in-law, Leroy Schnaus.
 
A Mass of Christian Burial for Glen R. Werne will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 7, 2019, in Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.  The V.F.W. Post #673 will conduct military grave site rights.
 
A visitation will be held from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 6, 2019, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, Indiana. 
 
Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church, Lange-Fuhs Cancer Center, or to a favorite charity.
